The Üç Şerefeli Mosque (Turkis: Üç Şerefeli Camii) is a 15t-century Ottoman mosque in Edirne, Turkey.
The Üç Şerefeli Mosque wis commissioned bi Ottoman sultan Murad II (1421–1444,1446– 1451), an biggit atween 1438 and 1447. It is locatit in the historical center o the ceety, close tae the Selimiye Mosque an Auld Mosque. The name refers tae unuisual minaret wi three balconies (Turkis: üç şerefeli).
The airchitect of the mosque is nae kent. It is biggit o Burgaz limestone wi a main dome that is 24 m in diameter. When first biggit the dome wis the lairgest in ony Ottoman biggin. The mosque wis severely damagit bi fire in 1732 an bi an yirdquauk in 1748 but wis repaired on the order o Mahmut I.
The twa blue an turquoise unnerglaze-paintit tile panels in the tympana o the windows were probably produced bi the same group o tilemakers who haed decoratit the Yeşil Mosque (1419–21) in Bursa where the tiles are signed as "the wirk o the masters o Tabriz" (ʿamal-i ustadan-i Tabriz). The running pattern o the Cheenese influenced floral border tiles is similar tae those in the smaw Muradiye Mosque in Edirne.
In the Şakaiki Numaniye Taş Köprü Zade relates hou 'Certain accursed anes o nae significance' were burnt tae daith by Mahmut Paşa who accidentally set fire tae his beard in the process.
